Controls on the M&P®22 Magnum are fully ambidextrous with mirrored controls and reversible mag release and the internal hammer-fired single-action with flat-faced trigger is light and crisp and has an audible reset. Like the M&P®5.7, the M&P®22 Magnum features TEMPO™ technology: a two-part barrel with proprietary gas system and this ensures the projectile has exited the barrel before cycling the spent casing.
